After 7 weeks staying with family the day finally arrived to get the keys to Mill House. The sun was shining on a glorious autumn day and we picked the kids up early from school so we could all start this exciting new chapter together.

The removal team were waiting at the property with several containers of our belongings so the next few hours flew by in a haze of boxes. We found some time to take a wander with the kids are refamiliarise ourselves with the seemingly enormous and somewhat daunting amount of land.

The house itself is very tired but has so many beautiful features its easy to see its potential. The previous owner was a carpenter/joiner and there are gorgeous handmade wooden shutters on all the windows. Unfortunately these also seem to be housing a population of hibernating ladybirds!

Making the most of the lovely weather we have been getting all the essentials unpacked and storing a lot of boxes in the workshop. Getting the lawn mown is a top priority as the rain is due in a few days. Luckily the previous owner left both a ride on mower and mini tractor and trailer which we’ve managed to get started and been having great fun on!

The next few days will be more of the same, learning the land, cutting the grass and settling in to this beautiful property.
